Emergencies of Authoritarianism is a project of the International Consortium of Critical Theory Programs (ICCTP) and facilitated by the Freie Universität Berlin. It is funded by the VolkswagenStiftung.
The International Consortium of Critical Theory Programs (ICCTP) aims to document and facilitate the new global contours of critical theory today, which are being renewed in light of pressing global challenges, by supporting critical thought both inside and outside the university in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and science and technology studies. The ICCTP is housed in the Program in Critical Theory at UC Berkley and has established an active network of over 500 programs, projects, centers, and institutions from almost all regions of the globe and 47 countries, which now constitutes the largest international network in the humanities located in the UC system. The ICCTP was established in 2016 through a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and 2019 renwend throuh a second grant from the Mellon Foundation.
